- Bonfire of the Vanities - Brian DePalma solidified his place as one of the worst directors ever with the obscene liberties he took with this book. Miscasts, scence changes, and a literal re-writing of two major characters makes this film unwatchable
- The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love - Sorry, but the film missed the point of the novel. A story of longing and suffering amidst the seductive beat of mambo plays instead like an "I Love Lucy" rerun.
- The Clan of the Cave Bear - Bad enough Daryl Hannah can't act in English. She can't even act grunting in Cave-speak.
- Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas - What a clusterf**k of a movie. Sometimes it's just easier to describe in words the trippy insanity HST and his sidekick experienced rather than direct it on film.
- Portnoy's Complaint - I remember catching this on TV one night and being horribly disappointed. Just couldn't buy the always-annoying Richard Benjamin as Portnoy - more whiny than oversexed.

I agree with everything but the hunter s. thompson novel. I think the movie Fear and Loathing, though upon first viewing I thought was awful, is actually a worthy adaption.
