Author Comments:

Books, strips and internet.

Comic is a medium that I snob for long time, but lastly I discover a lot of gems. One of my next read is Black Hole by Charles Burns. Thanks for your list, I will take some ideas. Some of my favorite comics/graphic novels:

The Arrival, Shaun Tan
Persepolis, Marjane Satrapi
The Little Prince, Joann Sfar
Peter and the Wolf, Miguelanxo Prado
Fever in Urbicand, François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters
The Calculus Affair, Hergé
Watchmen, Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons
80 Days, Nicolas Vadot and Olivier Guéret
Maus, Art Spiegelman
(lit. The Taste of Chlorine), Bastien Vivès

What are your favorites?

I haven't read many comics so my favourites have a lot of the usual suspects.

Calvin and Hobbes
Epileptic
From Hell
Ghost World
Ice Haven
Jar of Fools
Jimmy Corrigan: The Smartest Kid on Earth
Maus
My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down
Persepolis
Pyongyang
Safe Area Goražde
Understanding Comics
Watchmen
Wimbledon Green

I also own some classic comics i haven't got round to reading yet.

Blankets - Craig Thompson
David Boring - Daniel Clowes
Iron Fist in a Velvet Glove - Daniel Clowes
Summer Blonde - Adrian Tomine

Comics are expensive and i live in a rural area so the library system isn't great, but i will look into your list. My library couldn't get The Arrvial, but they do have another of Tan's, Tales from Outer Suburbia.
