Nicheflix rents multi-region, PAL, and NTSC format DVDs.
There is some overlap among my Netflix, Blockbuster, and Nicheflix queues, because most of these titles are not readily available.

Croupier rules! Did you see Clive Owen in the BMW commercials?
I'm sorry I haven't had the privilege (I eschew commercials). However, I have seen him in Gosford Park and The Bourne Identity. I look forward to seeing him in Croupier.
well, they were actually short films. I'm not even sure they played on TV. You should check them out at bmwfilms.com
yeah, commercials (and more and more TV) are generally rubbish. even super bowl commercials have gone downhill. however, my cousin tells me that when I was younger, I would *only* watch commercials ...
OK, thanks. I'll check them out.
I have managed to watch the BMW shorts with Clive Owen. Very entertaining! I was impressed that he did his own driving.
RC, do you still have your Nicheflix membership?
Yes. In addition to this list, I've started another one called Nicheflix History.
The reason I ask is that I received my new All Region DVD player yesterday and I need to test it out and see if works with a non-Region 1 DVD. Instead of buying something I was thinking about signing up for a Nicheflix trial. Are they pretty good with sending things quickly?
Comparable to Greencine. The fastest I've received something was three days and the slowest was six. They're in Indiana.
I've never used Greencine. But being in Indiana is good since I'm in Ohio. So you trust Nicheflix with your credit card number?
I don't have any reason not to, yet.
Thanks, RC!
I signed up for a Nicheflix account on the 12th and it is now the 16th and they still haven't shipped anything in my queue. Any recommendations?
Cancel your account!
Seriously?! Did you have this problem?
No. They shipped my first two movies the day after I registered.
Do the movies in your queue have a wait status?
Yes, I have 6 titles. 5 say Available Soon and 1 says Available Shortly. I guess I'll just have to be patient and/or find some more titles to add. Thanks for the feedback! :-)
I don't know what "available soon" means, but it's clearly not the same as "available now". It's up to you how long you're willing to wait, of course.
I'm waiting for them to offer the a la carte option.
I'm just trying to get my hands of a few non-Region 1 discs to test the capabilities of my new DVD player. I don't know if I will continue with the service or not. Right now it's not looking good.
Dan, what happened to your list of Netflix clones? I can't find it even with a google search.
This is what I had when I got bored and quit working on it.
Ah! Thanks.
I'm suprised it's not easier to get Croupier from Netflix since Netflix had the exclusive when it was first released on DVD. For awhile there you could only rent it from Netflix and could not buy it anywhere.
You're right. I don't know what it's doing there.
Wow, I sincerely hope you enjoy Orgazmo more than I liked the quarter of it I watched. I haven't felt the desire to see the rest of it yet.

It's probably crap, but I really appreciate Trey Parker's sense of humor.
Look out! She's getting Salo!
Shalom, y'all!
L. Bangs
Good luck with that. Oof.
Do you regret seeing it?
Not at all. I think it's a provocative and powerful film, and I'm happy to own it. But it's certainly not easy viewing.
What's going to happen?
I have it at home. Should I watch it?
Well, you watch the video, then your phone rings...
(I really shouldn't try to reference films I haven't even seen.)
Besides your stomach twisting and your dreams growing perhaps a shade more distressed, nothing will happen. It is just an extremely disturbing movie.
You're a better man than I am, Gunga Din.
Shalom, y'all!

I'm sure I'll find it painfully disturbing to watch, but I need more movies for my "worst movies I've ever seen" list.
Based on reviews of it which I've read, I already think liberals everywhere should be required to watch this film, before being allowed to accuse anyone of being a fascist.
So what thought ye of "Salo"?
I think it is a very disturbing, disgusting, fascinating movie. Definitely has an attraction vs repulsion dynamic going on. Who on earth is the audience for this film?! Not the worst movie I've ever seen. I didn't suffer as much as I thought I would, perhaps because it was not unrelenting. There are breaks in the action, a variety of shots and angles used to good effect, enough to allow the viewer to be detached or look away at other things in the scene. That makes it more objective, rather than exploitative. It has some of the most repulsive villains I have ever seen on film.
Oh you get to see El Topo!
I envy you:(
Now you've added to my anticipation, which will make waiting for Nicheflix a little harder.
