Hollywood Bitchslap calls these people "quote whores", meaning they'll give a movie an enthusiastically glowing review in order to get quoted in advertisements, as if that lends them credibility as a movie reviewer.
Melanie Moon has only seen one movie this year. Jeff Howard says one of the best movies. Which could mean there are hundreds of great movies and Lords of Dogtown was one of them. Jack Mathews says that Off the Map is "perhaps" the most evocative movie of the year. Perhaps it is not.
