I subscribe to both Spin and Rolling Stone but i like the English magazines (such as Q) far better than either of those. Unfortunately, they are pricey and you cannot subscribe if you live in the states

Neither, though if I had to pick I would say RS.
I'd probably go with Magnet. Maybe Uncut. If we're considering on-line sites and not just published magazines, I'd go with Trouser Press and Pitchfork. Stylus is pretty good too, since they cover film as well as music.
I am an Aerosmith fan myself.
Uncut easily trumps both of the above US magazines, IMNSHO.
If I had to choose from the above, I'd go with Rolling Stone, which at least still boasts one or two decent writers. Spin has never risen above crap, and it is not even in its prime at the moment.
Shalom, y'all!

I try to pick up Uncut whenever i go to the bookstore, but the cover price is about $9 (if i remember correctly) and that usually covers the cost of the book that i went in to buy in the first place.
I certainly hear ya, but the free CD does make the moolah a little easier to let go of most months...

That is true, that is true.
Of the two I prefer Rolling Stone, but living in the UK I pick up Q and Mojo which I have to say I prefer to RS.
