I voted for Marvin because he was the best but I almost went for Smokey because he is always underrated and probably had more to do with the success of Motown than anyone this side of Berry Gordy. Of course I would vote for their house rythm section if they were up there. Those boys could play.
I totally agree that Smokey is underrated. I always have that conflict on these polls too, because I might think one is the best, but if I know others are going to vote for the same one, I tempted to go for the underdog who might not get the attention. Thanks for the comment...
