VOTE: Best Free Blog Host

I plan to completely relaunch my stupid little blog into a semi-respectable one.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on the best free blog hosting available. Here are some features I need:
- Free.
- No ads.
- Blogging can be done through free software instead of clumsy web interface.
- Post categories.
- Comments/Permalinks.
- Highly configurable templates.
And, some features I'd really, really like:
- Ability to search/sort posts by category.
- Easy tracking of users and new comments.
I'm not looking for a community weblog.
Any suggestions and tips you can throw my way will be greatly appreciated!
Anybody? Anybody got any ideas? I see there's a vote for Livejournal and BlogEasy - I'll definitely see if those do what I want, but I didn't see categories in the feature list at Livejournal.
