Sarah Vowell - Should I read this author or not?

Author Comments:
The author of "Radio On : A Listener's Diary" and more recently "Take the Cannoli", Vowell is a writer whose name pops up in and around the names of my all time favourites - David Sedaris, Davis Eggers and David Rakoff. But something - maybe because she is a female author - keeps me away.
Help!?! All advice is welcome, as are recommendation for other books, natch.

Hey, Busy! A couple of comments...
For some reason your poll has 3 choices in the polling section but 4 in the results section. And yes I do recommend Sarah Vowell. She is an NPR regular and I've also seen her on Conan O'Brien a few times. If I were you I'd go with Take The Cannoli. From what I've read it's a little more polished than the radio diary.
How suspect...there are four results. I've always said I'm smart enough to break computers, but not use them.
I've seen her on Conan as well, and that is what finally drew me to her. It's something about the way she talks - not her voice, although that in itself is amusing! - but the way she phrases sentences is fantastic.
Thanks for the advice!
