Poll: Italian Director

What's the point of this poll? Well, it's pointless. And if you check my other lists, you'll find out that this happens quite often to me.

A to the R to the Gento.

Argh, dammit! Dario Argento...and I thought I had all of those listologists'd think about...

Eh, I'm probably the only one here that's got an Argento fetish.

I have to say, there's a handful of names here I've never heard of: Pietro Germi, Vittorio De Seta [Honest to God, when I was scanning the list, I thought you mistyped "De Sica" :-) ], Dino Risi [Didn't he just lose to Christine Gregoire? (dumb Seattle joke)], Ettore Scola, Francesco Rosi, Giuseppe De Santis, Alessandro Blasetti, Gabriele Salvatores, and Giovanni Pastrone.

Guess I got some gaps in my education that need filling!

I'll second that Argento fetish -- hell, I even dig "Inferno"...

And while I'm nitpicking, isn't Francesco Rosi better known for "Salvatore Giuliano" and "Christ Stopped at Eboli" than for his extremely obscure adaptation of a lesser Marquez novel?

Actually I chose the films in parantheses randomly.

Criminy, I've never heard of either of those movies either. I guess if it doesn't involve young women either brutally killed with knives or named Monica Vitti, I know nutzink about Italian cinema.
