I'll vote after I've seen Taxi Driver (and maybe King of Comedy). At the moment, my vote would go to Goodfellas, but I could see Taxi Driver upsetting that.
I absolutely love all the Scorsese films I have seen to date (except The Age of Innocence, which is just nice, but which I plan to rewatch).
Thanks for warning me, but I don't think this will prevent me from watching it (when it is next on TV and I don't miss it)...
That's a tough one to answer. Of the ones I've seen, I like Mean Streets the best, because it's the most auto-biographical and self-revelatory. I identify with the characters.
I've seen the following:
Mean Streets (1973)
Taxi Driver (1976)
Raging Bull (1980)
The Color of Money (1987)
The Last Temptation of Christ (1988)
Goodfellas (1990)
Gangs of New York (2002)
The Aviator (2004)

Taxi Driver is a masterpiece, even better than Raging Bull. I'm pretty sure it'll top Goodfellas...
I voted for The last temptation of christ.
Possible the Scorsese film I most want to see, after Mean Streets.
Hmm, Mean Streets getting no votes? Weird.
Wow. Someone actually thinks "Bringing Out the Dead" is Scorsese's best film?
I haven't seen it, but missed it every time it was on TV.
You didn't miss much. It's garbage, albeit very slickly made garbage.

My vote went to Goodfellas and it wasn't a close battle.
Not so hard to believe.
Personally, I had a dilemma between Taxi Driver and Raging Bull. But the latter was certainly not a possible candidate for you? :-)
lol you can say that again :-)
Definitely had to go with Taxi Driver.

Yup, Taxi Driver was my choice too, even though it was a rather close race with Raging Bull.
I'm not going to vote until I've seen them all.
That is fair.
Which one would be your favourite so far?

I'd certainly go with Taxi Driver, but I haven't yet seen Mean Streets.
I hope you get to see it someday. It's very realistic, I think.
you know I don't really care that much about Scorsese's works but I voted anyway...
Thx.
