The return address for my closest distribution center is in a city about 9 miles from where I live.
Might I suggest redoing this poll, but where you are voting on the "round trip" time? I.E. how long after you drop a DVD in the mail before you get a new one? I think it might be less confusing.
I was solely interested in the time it takes a DVD to get from the Netflix distribution center to your mailbox. Lots of things go into "round trip time." Lots of time I have empty slots in my DVDs You Have Out list simply because I'm waiting for new releases or discs that have a short wait. When that happens it obviously takes a lot longer than normal to get those DVDs.

I'm surprised you end up with empty shipping slots though, as I thought Netflix skipped items in your queue until getting to one that is ready to ship immediately?
I was thinking that the time would be the same. It is here in New Orleans now that there is a distribution center in Baton Rouge. I don't think I'd be bothering with Netflix if it still took 3 days for the DVDs to ship either way.
I don't think it'll let me. Just assume one "3 day" vote is actually a "1 day" vote. Getting them back to Netflix always takes WAY longer in the mail than going from Netflix to me.
I generally get the same kind of service (our center is in Tacoma, about an hour or so away), unless it's slightly obscure or old, and it has to come from some other distribution center.

They do, but I emptied out my queue recently so that I would be assured of getting some new releases that I really want to see.

2 days after I get an e-mail from Netflix saying my DVD is shipped I usually get the DVD. So I chose 2 days.
Now, if you guys are going with this other interpretation then mine would be 4 days from when I sent a DVD back until I receive back its replacement.

If they ship me a DVD on Monday, it's in my mailbox on Tuesday morning. Same goes for sending 'em back.

How far away is the distribution center? I haven't had that problem since they opened up one a lot closer to me than Houston.

Damn, then there's no reason it should take longer than a day for your returns to be shipped and processed by Netflix.
