How Can The Star Trek Franchise be Rejuvenated?

Just figured I'd ask, since there seem to be a lot of people proclaiming the death of Star Trek these days. Personally, I think they should do a spin-off not about people exploring space, but still in the Trek universe, like a medical drama or the suggested Starfleet Academy show. What do you think?

Anytime producers use the terms "new hip young" before describing a new series, my brain immediately shuts off. I enjoyed both the original series, and The Next Generation a lot. DS9 basically killed my interest in the franchise after two seasons. I saw a little Voyager and a little Enterprise, but wasn't much impressed. The Next Generation was the best because it had great, sometimes heroic characters. It dealt with serious issues as the show developed. Science fiction seems to be plagued by stereotypes of campiness and simply embarrassing dialogue, so I think it's a bad idea to contine down that road. I hope the franchise popularity can be ressurrected, but I don't see it happening for a long time.

It doesn't need rejuvenating, it's fine!

TNG was the best - better than the original. DS9 was a massive disppointment, but Voyager was great (not quite TNG but excellent nevertheless), and Enterprise is OK (perhaps a little introverted).

I was never a fan of the original series (sacrilige) as the plots were often psychadelic and never credible and even then I felt the production values were poor, even for a teenager like me.

Let me add, improvements to Enterprise would be welcomed of course, as would another brand new series the calibre of TNG or Voyager.
