It will be quite interesting to see how this turns out. The four that seem to get the most critical acclaim are Piper, Dark Side, WYWH and The Wall. Whereas with the fan base Piper usually gets substituted for Animals, not unsurprisingly as those liking the other 3 are far more likely to like the similar Animals to the different era Piper. The large amount of Scaruffists on this site will probably mean it's between Piper and Dark Side.
I voted Piper which I find to be a little better than Saucerful (yep you guessed it, I have Scaruffist inclinations). Saucerful was my favourite for a while though. My fav from 3rd era Floyd (we'll say this starts from Echoes on Meddle, as this is where the sound changed to the most popular Floyd), is WYWH, with the best song by a fair way being Welcome To The Machine. I would possibly rank this in my top 10 Floyd songs. 4th era Floyd (post Waters) I believe is best left forgotten.
Also some people may be interested to know that according to Lukeprog in an old post Ummagumma used to be in Scarruffi's top 10 albums. He believes the live side is weaker but the studio side is 8/10+. I've still only listened to the album once through and that was a while back so I can't really comment on this change atm.
I think you know by now I don't value Scaruffi opinion he is awful. This is about Pink Floyd. I picked the Wall on just for the quality of sound and music. Piper get's my vote for most groudbreaking.
The Piper at the Gates of Dawn.
Something we agree on!

On another note Kahutz, here's where you can learn how to use apostrophes! =)
