Being English i am going to have to go for Indian. Its virtually our national dish!Have at least one curry a week, Hotter the better and so many different types to choose.Great idea for a poll.
I've always heard the spiciest food is a toss-up between Thai and Indian. I've even heard you have to be raised on it in order to withstand it. Has anyone tasted both and have an opinion either way?
I love both, and I usually order each dish followed by the phrase, "and make that as hot as you can."
While I probably slightly favor Indian food, I have bit into a Thai pepper than nearly gave me a heart attack, and understand, I eat VERY spicy, tongue-burningly hot food. This was just in an entirely other league!
So, I'm going to tip my hat at Thai being the hottest, if that's what you're asking, but Indian certainly uses as many spices, probably more, so it might technically be the spiciest, if you look at it that way.
I don't have as much experience with Indian food, but I can tell you that they make a papaya salad in northeast Thailand called Som Tam that will raise blisters (well, not literally). I was visiting a Peace Corp buddy of mine who was teaching in a village there, and the number one question his students asked me was: "can you eat Som Tam?"
In eating Thai and Indian in restaurants about 20 times each and making Indian food for the past two years, I have a wee bit of experience. I would say that either can be made supercalafragilistically spicy fairly easy, but I find that Thai dishes are often prepared spicier than the indian dishes around here. If you really want to melt your tongue go to a Thai place and ask them to make it "Thai Hot", just make sure you order a Tsinghao to go with it!
I love all kinds of food, but I had to go with Italian. There's something about a nice crispy pizza or a zesty pasta dish or a cheese calzone that really entices my tastebuds.
Oh my gosh, this may be the hardest poll ever. I can't even vote yet; I'll have to think about this for a while. I think either Middle Eastern might get my vote, just because of this one restaurant near me that has the best shwarma.
D'oh! Forgot the Mexican...you think since I had mexican twice last week I would have remembered it...slipping away into senility at 25...aargh!!! Thanks for the reminder. :)
Uh... I think I was going to say either Middle Eastern or Indian, but I pressed post a little too soon, so my original post doesn't make too much sense. Ooops!
Yay you included Mexican, but sadly I already voted for Greek. Have you ever tried Filippino Cusine? If not it is delightful and interesting.
Never had Filipino before...what's it like?
It is a cross between Spanish,Chinese and Malaysian cusine. Some of the dishes are an aquired taste, but interesting none the less.

Also, I'm surprised you didn't include Mexican.
