It's funny. I love the Discworld but I've never read one of the books. There was one failed attempt at a title I don't recognize among your list but it didn't hold my interest. Perhaps I had already gleaned all the enjoyment from the MUD and PS1 game.

You mean 'The Colour of Her Panties' I think.
But there is also 'The Colour of Magic' by Pratchett.
