no doubt the first one of the trilogy... after that it's a crap shoot of filler and overdone action sequences... i like the introductions to all the characters more than the actual battle after battle after battle crap.
I liked all three, and I felt they got better successively. The first one droned on at times and made me look at my watch at times. I guess I was antsy for more action. Plus, the ending scenes with Frodo and Sam seemed a little overly mushy, I thought they were going to kiss.
I have to agree with you on that. I'm not much of a Lord of the Rings fan but the first one is definately better then the second and I haven't seen the third one.
