Best Alfred Hitchcock Movie

The best according to you, not what some "so-called" experts consider the best.

OK 'Fess up: how many people here have really seen all 50 of these and can say with confidence which one is the best? I mean, I voted, but for all I know, Under Capricorn could be an undersung masterpiece. (In fact, I once heard someone claim this very thing.)

I don't know, but I've seen 40 of them so I figured someone else could have seen the rest. When I say best, I mean best to you. I don't expect anyone to disect a movie to figure out if there were any flaws and try to vote for the one flawless movie out of the ones that they've seen. Some people think Vertigo is his best, some think Rear Window is his best, You may think Notorious is his best, others may have other ideas as to what his best movie is.

NxNW, baybee!

And no, I've seen maybe half.

I think I see where you're coming from. To me, a "favorite" movie is what you're describing, whereas "best" implies an objective judgment (or at least, as close as you can get to it). I find myself caring less and less about the "best," anyway. Either way, I'd have to choose Notorious.

You've really seen 40 Hitchcock movies? I'm impressed. I've seen 20.

Due to the fact that everyone has differing opinions, there's no way to determine the best or the greatest of anything, really. The best to me might not be the best to you. So all you can do is say what's the best for you.

I have an Alfred Hitchcock DVD Box set with 11 of his early movies and a few others on DVD as well and alot of his later films play on TCM from time to time.
