The Battle of the Davids

i am actually obsessed with all the Davids - though still can't finish "Infinite Jest" - too daunting. i think i have read "Heartbreaking Work..." at least six times.
any suggestions on what a David fan should try to read next?

a new david has emerged! I haven't decided if it's something about the non-fictional short story/essay genre or people named david. either way i can't get enough.

great poll! i, too, am daunted by wallace, and loved eggers... but i had to choose sedaris because he lacks any and all pretention. one gets the impression he's got absolutely nothing to hide, which is at once comforting, disconcerting and just plain engaging. (have i gone overboard yet?)

i've loved wallace. liked sedaris and haven't started eggers yet.

start "Heartbreaking Work..." today! its funny and horrific and brilliant and everything else. while that may sound like a bit much, it's really true!

i'm actually thinking of picking up the paperback, even thought i bought the hardcover, because there is a new section titled "apologies"...how good is that!
