- '99: Garrison Hearst-The original cursee. Suffered a broken ankle in the divisional playoff game against the Atlanta Falcons, ultimately requiring Hearst to miss two full NFL seasons.
- '00: Barry Sanders- Abruptly retired.
- '01: Eddie George-Had a down year in 01, failed to break 1000 yrds or make the playoffs following a winning campain in 00.
- '02: Daunte Culpepper-Missed 4 games onto Minnesota's worst record since 1984.
- '03: Marshall Faulk-Had his worst season the following year since 96.
- '04: Michael Vick--Missed 11 games with a broken leg the following year beofre the infamous arrest. Dead dogs, 18 months in prison, and the rest is history.
- '05: Ray Lewis-So far so good....
- '06: Donovan McNabb-Went down with a hernia in week 9 and the Eagles missed the playoffs for the first time since 99.
- '07: Shaun Alexander-Missed 6 games the following season with a broken foot
- '08: Vince Young-Lost starting job, regained starting job, lost starting job, almost committed suicide, regained starting job...stay tuned.
- '09: Brett Favre-Favre actually appeared in a Green Bay uniform mere weeks before he was let go and landed in Jets garb. Didn't end up making the playoffs last year, but in hindsight, maybe Green Bay was the real loser here.
- '10: Troy Polamalu & Larry Fitzgerald-Polamalu has missed much of the season with injuries. Fitzgerald has yet to die a fiery death in a plane crash...yet.
