Maybe I'm looking too far into the future, but I'm almost positive CC Sabathia will be there, seeing as he may be next year's highest paid player. Also the entire 2008 Tampa Bay Rays, that is if they take it down this year, as it may go down as one of the most inspiring and weirdest baseball stories ever. We've seen teams come out of nowhere and dominate for a while (Rockies, Astros, Brewers), but they seem to fall apart at some point - the Rays currently are absolutely destroying the defending champ and one of the more experienced teams in the league. We're talking a team that, up until this year, never even had a winning season. THAT'S Hall of Fame material.
yea, you could definately make a case for CC, Longoria, Crawford, and Upton...for now its too soon to tell...too bad they don't give out bids for inspiring stories...GO SOX!
Varitek's got no shot, and I'm a Sox fan. I'm also not sure about Chipper or Ichiro. Otherwise I agree.
v-teks caught 4 no hitters (most ever) and been the captain of two championship winning teams...hittin numbers for catchers are always low compared to other positions, even for guys in the hall....im not sayin hes a shew in but hes got an outside shot...
