What did you think of the Xiu Xiu album?

Hmmm, what did I think...

It’s jarring, disorienting and ignores pretty much every musical convention associated with “rock”. The textures seem to belong more to ambient music than rock. The “instrumentation” usually consists of 3-seconds snippets that quickly disappear into the amorphous ambient backdrop.

To sum up, it's harrowing, deeply personal and very original. Highly recommended for the adventurous listener.

Since your cell is off, here's a reminder... Please bring my movies. I miss them. Also, I'd love to borrow Litanies of Satan. As exchange I'll let you borrow Nostalghia & Inland Empire (trust me, it's a more than worthy exchange! Guaranteed to be added to your favorite films list!).

Films I know I left there are:

Persona
Chinatown
Donnie Darko
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
21 Grams
Mulholland Drive
Days of Heaven
Mean Streets
Sunset Boulevard

and possibly:

Godard's "Weekend"?????????? (can't remember if I still own this one)

There may be others, but that's what I remember... ( :

Hmmm, well very good. The DVDs that Danny gave me to give to you included Mulholland Drive, Days of Heaven, Donnie Darko, Weekend and possibly 21 Grams/Eternal Sunshine, but I'm not certain of those last two. I haven't seen any other DVDs around besides those listed above.

I'll remember to bring them downtown next weekend (I put an alert in my cell phone). I'll lend you Litanies as well, providing you replace the demolished case with something a little more travel-capable.

Unless of course you've already left, in which case enjoy the sunny weather and so forth.

I'll be around on Saturday so please bring 'em on!

cool, so Saturday it is, see you guys there!

It would be truly Lynchian for you to suddenly show up... ( :

Surprisingly, I'm still in P-town and it's looking like I will be on Sat...so please bring back those 2 films, along with Litanies. I'll bring in a case.

If you come across any of the others (try Jobe's room) please bring them in as well. In all seriousness, they may be in the garage on the shelf where DP keeps some of his movies. The last place I remember seeing Persona and Chinatown were in his living room by the TV mixed in with his DVDs.

Again, I should be around this Sat...but even if I'm out, please drop those films off.

Also, I'd like to borrow Litanies and Passion of Joan of Arc (where did you get that one by the way?).

Feel free to borrow another film or 2. Just call tonight, and leave a message with the title on it if I'm not around--but make sure it's before 10pm or I probably won't get it in time for tomorrow.

Oh boy, we could create a Reality Blog between the two of us, our lives intersecting with the transaction of films and CDs...What EXCITEMENT!!!

I'd read it. May I suggest including mindless chatter about where to meet for lunch?
