Very nice, if nothing else this list makes me want to check out some more difficult music. I've heard of almost every album on the top 20 and was going to get many of them anyway but I think I may use this one as a guide. It goes to show someone who really likes TMR can also be a fan of Television, Sparks, The Fall, Feelies, etc. etc. Many of these albums would also make my top 100...
Thanks, man, much appreciated! I was reading your album (and band) reviews over at your place, fantastic stuff, really. I like where you're going with your critiques. I'm flattered that you would use my list as a guide. Also, I don't see a problem with being able to like avant-garde stuff, while at the same time, really digging on a good pop album. Good music is good music no matter what the genre is, you know? Of course, everybody has preferences, mine being pretty well reflected in my top 20, but I can also dig on a genre of music I may not normally listen to, as long as it's interesting to my ear, or makes my booty shake.

Music to Eat is amazing. It combines so many of my favorite genres of music: Beefheart, Zappa, jam band stylings (it completely predicts, if it did not outright influence, early Phish). It might make my Top 20 one day. It's not everyday you can listen to 20 minute songs on repeat!
