This my 1000 favorite movie trailers.
They are not in favorite order because it would have been too difficult, but by years... I thought it could be interresting.
The links come dead easily, sorry about that.
I'll update as I discover (or remember) better trailers.
The updates are in highlight.
Updated 2012-01-30.

Tenacious D in 'The Pick of Destiny' (2006) - Teaser - For the Ladies

Wall Street (1987)

Monty Python and The Meaning of Life (1983) - Telepathic Trailer

Profondo Rosso (1975) - Italian Trailer
That's Entertainment (1974)
The Last House On The Left (1972)
A Clockwork Orange (1971)
Caligula (1970)
Funeral Parade Of Roses (1969)
Reflections in a Golden Eye (1967)
Marnie (1964)
The Tingler (1959)
Rope (1948)

That's a very interesting idea for a list. I commend you.

Good call on Dune and Elephant. I couldn't get that Dune theme out of my head for something like two months after watching that for the first time.

For the most of the trailers I put here, the music plays a big role.
The timing of the edit and the song too.

I'm so glad you included the Eternal Sunshine trailer, which is my favorite trailer of all time.

It also introduced me to ELO's "Mr. Blue Sky," which is now my favorite song.

Me too, I had never this song before the trailer, it's was a great found. I'm a trailer music fan, mostly choral and classic, but sometimes rock songs make a good difference.

The "technically, it's brain damage" part in the trailer want me to see the movie as soon as possible. One of my favorite movie.

I especially love how you've managed to hyperlink all of these.

There's a 6-minute fan trailer for The Matrix somewhere out there that I saw before I saw the actual movie and I was like "holyshitthatisthemostamazingthingihaveeverseen." I wish I could find the link now, but do you think you've seen this one?

I've wanted to a edit a fan trailer for Bergman's Persona since I saw it the third time, scored to the final minutes of the first movement of Arvo Part's Tabula Rasa.

Have you seen many fan trailers? Some of them are more thrilling than the studio-produced ones.

I know what you mean, I'm a good fan of fan made trailers! *I understand myself* @_@

No I didn't see the 6-minute fan trailer for The Matrix, I will try to check this out.

I know a lot of people that make fan trailers. We have made a contest, a guy name Guiboche win it with his So Close trailer. His official is down for maintenance, I wish you could see.
His trailer are like REAL!!! He use After Effects too (I just can't use this! *snif*) !
I upload his 2 best (in my opinion) trailers: So Close, Disturbing Behavior.

Robodan is known to make good fan trailers too, my favorites are Dune and The Man in the Iron Mask.

Wow. Not my style of movie, but some very slick trailers! He likes inverted color flashes way too much, though.

You made me relisten Arvo Part and I've just found how close "Cantus In Memory Of Benjamin Britten" is from "Faith" (The Insider Score/Lisa Gerrard & Pieter Bourke). :P

You should see TORSO IT FILLS THE SCREEN WITH VIOLENCE.

A trailer that i remember liking was the Boogie Nights trailer, The Shining trailer is pretty good too.

There was a teaser for Strange Days, with just Ralph Fiennes talking to the audience, i thought it was pretty good too.

Do you mean Torso? The 70's italian film?
I've never see the movie nor the trailer before.
I've take a look on YouTube. Gory. Is all italian horror movies look all the same? :P

The Boogie Nights trailer is almost unfindable on the web, but I remember that it was good. ^_^

Its not that great of a trailer, but voiceover guy amuses me.

Wonderful list. I totally agree about the Pearl Harbor trailer being great. Too bad the movie sucked, eh? Still awesome list

Well, this is not the only one that the trailer is better than the movie... :P
DnD, The Alamo, ...

Yeah, The Alamo was disappointing. Better than the John Wayne version, but that's not saying much. Shame, no one's been able to make a really good film about the Alamo. Never saw DnD, though I heard it sucked.

Suck indeed. I suggest to rewatch the LoTR than see DnD!

Betty Blue trailer has been delete in my YouTube account just because you can see 1s a penis, even if I put Rated-R in the title!
The morons...
God I hate YT!!!!!

Sorry I need to express myself...
My account will be delete soon, I can feel it...

All the old Apple links are dead damnit! And for YouTube, it depends on the weather...

Little by little I will put new ones...

Have you seen the Sweded trailer of "Be Kind Rewind", it's only Gondry on stage doing everything, it's reallly funny.

No, I didn't seen it before. I've saw it on YouTube. Funny. Like the accent.
