Nice number one! My favourite animated film, one of my favourites of any genre in fact. Part of it is nostalgia, as I had it when I was younger, same as you did. The soundtrack is just awe inspiring, The Rite of Spring, Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor, Night on a Bare Mountain, The Nutcracker etc! I believe that the Rite of Spring used is not the same as the original version, and is a variation, but its stilll awesome. In fact, thinking about it, I agree with your number two too, excellent list.
Yeah. Part of it is Nostalgia. But as I watch it each year I always see some new meaning which I never saw before. When I first watched it, I thought it was just amazing to look at, then ws I was about 9 I understood the pictures more. Then when I watched it last year I appreciated the music so much more. The music fits in the same way that music does in 2001. To enhance the beauty of the images.
Wall-E's brilliant. He's just so bloody sweet.
Have you ever seen Spirited Away? One of the best animation films I've seen (I think it's Japenese). Great to see Ratatouille up there!
