Author Comments:

The Grand National is the world's premier steeplechase event, which has been run at Aintree, Liverpool since 1839.

The 1916-1918 races were not held at Aintree due to World War I, but at Gatwick instead.

1993's race was declared void as some of the racers did not return to the start after a false start.

Extremely interesting. :)
