Author Comments:
I have seen almost all of the major horror films released in the last ten years (i.e. theatrical releases), as well as a great deal of smaller independent horror films (usually only ones with strong "buzz," but sometimes I'll just take a blind chance). There are still lots and lots of these smaller films I have not seen (the market is over-saturated with terrible SOV horror flicks, so I am a little weary of giving these a chance) so if you think there is one that should make this list, let me know.

I agree The Fog remake was bad.
I've been looking over your "25 best" horror films and I notice that you don't have any asian films. Is this because you haven't seen them or just don't like them?
A little of both. I've seen a fair amount, but I'm not a huge fan of Asian films. I like some non-horror Asian films, especially those of Wong Kar-Wai. I also liked Oldboy quite a bit. The only Asian horror film I really liked a lot was the anthology Three Extremes, and that one maybe should make this list. I also recently watched the lost classic, House (1977), which I loved. I've seen most of the big Asian Horror films (Ringu, Ju-On, The Eye, Audition, The Host, A Tale of Two Sisters, Whispering Corridors, Battle Royale), and I really didn't care for any of them. I think it has something to do with their style of storytelling. Perhaps there are some amazing films I just haven't seen yet. What might you recommend?
