Most Important Books Americans Must Read

Perhaps something on the Arab-Israeli conflict. Unfortunately I cannot recommend a specific book, but I don't think the average American realizes how much money the U.S. sends to Israel, and how many U.N. treaties the two countries have voted against unilaterally. Probably the most ridiculous conflict in the world and perhaps the most dangerous to world peace. Actually, I found learning about the whole conflict, and the creation of Israel, to be ridiculously disheartening. I'm never sure whether to be angry about it or just laugh at how absurd the whole thing is.
