An interesting visual effect is achieved when the camera lens zooms in on an object at the same time as the camera is tracked away from the object. Help me collect such shots from the movies. Suggestions welcome.

i could never tell which way it was but I have always noticed and often mentally recorded when the effect took place... some could be zooming out while tracking in shots though i don't really decipher between the two.

Raging bull- when ray is about to seemingly put jake down for the count

Don't tell mom the babysitters dead- when they first meet the babysitter

Return of the living dead- when the girl first encounters that tar zombie

and one other i don't recall, it might be the jaws one, there are plenty i've seen that didn't work well, I only really remember the ones that did.

I suppose the effect would be the same. I might go to Ask A Filmmaker at IMDb and see what a cinematographer has to say about it.

I'll get around to including your suggestions.

I think the Jaws example is highly effective.

I have asked the cinematographer at IMDb and am awaiting a reply.

Update: IMDb had a problem with their "Ask a Cinematographer" form page, and I've had to re-submit my question. Again awaiting a reply.

Just a guess, but if you did a quick scan of Raimi's The Quick and The Dead, you'd probably find a shot like this. It's been awhile since I've watched it, but he played with his cameras quite a bit on that one. Just has to be a backing-away-gunfighter-zoom in there somewhere.
