My favorite of these are listed here.

I hate to sound like a broken record (but apparently I don't hate to use awful cliches), but might I suggest Fritz Lang's Metropolis?

Well, I know the movie is worth watching and belongs on this list. But unfortunately I don't feel I've seen Lang's original as I've only seen the trumped-up modern day version with the rock soundtrack, Jon Anderson (of Yes), Freddie Mercury (of Queen), et. al. To maintain the integrity of this list I can't include it until I've seen the original but I am almost positive it will make this list once I do.
Gotcha. I was unsure whether you had watched every film on this list, and you just answered that question as well.
Thanks.

What about Dune (2000 remake). I know the original is long-winded and not that great (I thought it was OK but most people I know absolutely hate it). However, the 2000 (I think thats the year) remake is really awesome. Sweet job with the list though! (Glad you put The Matrix in anyway, even the next two kinda ruined it). Also glad you put in Gattaca. Why do the critics hate it so much, and why is it often used as an example of a bad movie? I loved it, and have yet to meet anyone who didn't.
Forbidden Planet? A bit corny now, but influential (e.g. Star Trek).
I was really digging this list until I got to Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones. Ouch.
Let's put it this way. They aren't good movies. But they are worth watching once I think.
