Instead of the "Award Winners Synopsis" where only one film can make it into the final tally, the points system here allows multiple submissions per critic preferably limited to 10 films. The number ten film gets 1 point and the number one film gets 10 points. Everything in between is distributed accordingly.


Author Comments [01/10/01]: I am aware that some of these films are not from the year 2000, e.g. The Virgin Suicides, Ghost Dog, Decalogue, but I left obliged to add them for bookkeeping purposes. I also hope this list bodes well that Crouching Tiger actually has a shot a true Best Picture consideration instead of just Best Foreign Language Film.
