This list was begun two years ago at college, stuck on the dorm hall wall. People would submit movies, than if others agreed/disagreed, they would put an X/O accordingly. Therefore some movies which were on the list (The Lion King, Forrest Gump, etc.) were removed while others picked up a number behind them, such as Anaconda. So if you agree or disagree please comment thusly, and you may be able to remove a good movie from the bad list or add to the ire for a movie. Or submit a movie you think is the worst.
Here are my criteria for true "Worst" rank, however.
A) If you don't like horror movies in general, or romantic movies in general don't put a horror movie, since judging them would be difficult.
B) Only put a movie if it didn't entertain you at all. If it sucked the life out of you, if it had no merit. Don't put a merely bad movie. Put one with no value for any reason.
C) Only movies you've seen at least 3/4 of, please.
D) Try not to just put a movie because it offended you (i.e. the Pink Flamingos/Reservoir Dogs clause).
So far, Batman and Robin is our big "winner".

I heartily agree with the following:
Two Girls and a Guy (I wanted to like it for Robert Downey Jr., but couldn't)
Batman and Robin
Biodome
Anaconda (REALLY Abysmal!)
And I would like to suggest Bride of Chucky (even worse than all the other sequels) and Armageddon.
Thanks for your contributions! I hate to say it though, but "Bride of Chucky" was automatically eliminated by my enjoyment of it. If someone else suggests it, however, I've already used my vote. Does that make sense? I liked it MORE than the other Chucky movies. Maybe because I never found them scary to begin with.
I cast my vote for the Green Berets and Teaching Mrs Tingle.
Event Horizon-- that's my vote! Fun idea, I'll have to think of a worthy nominee.
I Whole-Heartedly Disagreee:
-------------------------------------------------
Excess Baggage - I'm sorry, but I found it quite delightful and fun. In fact, I think it is UNDERrated.
Crash - Certainly not Cronenberg's best, but 'Worst Film Ever'? ... No Way.
Please cast my votes for Worst Ever:
-------------------------------------------------
Armegeddon - not only was it drudfully dull, but was anyone else truly offended by the music--both the musucal selections and the score? I found it totally intolerable.
Batman & Robin - In my wildest dreams, I couldn't have imagined a more horrible piece of Hollywood grizzle.
Additionally:
-------------------------------------------------
Supernova - 1999 WOW! You rarely get to see movies this bad!
Mary Shelly's Frankenstein (Kenneth Branaugh) - I have only ever walked out of one film, and this was almost the second.
Johnny Neumonic - My friends and I left 1/2 hour into the movie. When the Box Office attendent inquired why we were leaving, she gave us our money back. I eventually watched it on video and it turned out as bad as it seemed it would be.
Congratulations! You got a movie taken off the list ("Crash"). I still haven't seen it, but I suspect it might be in the category of movies that aren't that horrible, but offended people. Besides it has James Spader in it; that saves almost any movie for me.
Actually it didn't offend me, but I thought it was horrible. i DO want to read the book and see if it's any better.
I wish to second johnny mneumonic as a peice of crap. It was absolutely horrible and was the only movie i've ever walked out on.
More votes for Batman and Robin and The Avengers, two of the worst high-budget films ever. Defintely life-sucking. And sadly, Uma Thurman was in both, I can't imagine what she was thinking.
Hey! Here's my votes. As the worst movies ever...
...please cast my vote(s) FOR:
Very Bad Things
Sphere
Speed 2: Cruise Control
Mission to Mars
The Haunting (1999)
The Stoned Age (1994)
and please cast my vote(s) AGAINST:
The Fly - Assuming you mean the film with Jeff Goldblum.
Two Girls and a Guy - I thought this film was very intriguing.
Darkman - This film is great! Like a comic-book come to life.
Dark City - This film too is wonderful. I gave it 9 stars on IMDB and I'm very picky.
Lost in Space - Could have been a helluva lot better but was still fun.
Mimic - Enjoyed.
Arachnaphobia - Fun and creepy crawly.
Dante's Peak - Better than that piece o shite Volcano.
Anaconda - Following the posters criteria this movie does not belong on this list. I vote AGAINST this as a bad film.
Apartment Zero - I liked this movie as well.
Oh! I second voting FOR The Haunting, and voting AGAINST Arachnaphobia, which I thought was fun.
Luckily, I have missed most of the others on the (current) list.
Dark city was a very good film.
hi jen!
lea is here with me and we thought we'd post some stuff and say hello. ummm lea votes for these movies to be added to the list: "matinee" starring john goodman and (if TV movies count) "deadly intentions....again?" starring the mom from growing pains and harry hamlin. the best/worst thing about "deadly" was the harry hamlin's to-do list which included such items as "1. get new identity 2. shop for rat poison 3. kill wife" ha! i second lea's vote for "deadly intentions....again?" to be added to the list. it would really be funny if there was anyone else out there in listology who had also seen it....anyone?
love, katherine and lea
I love Frankenstein, all sorts of cool gory medical stuff
The recent Mr. Magoo. Oh my, that movie was awful.
Shalom, y'all!

Which brings to my mind Dudley Do-Right, with Brendan Frasier. Truly bad.
I almost walked out of the theater, but I thought my friend liked it. She thought I liked it, so we both ended up staying much longer than we wanted.
Oh, yes, I have another one - the most recent Island of Dr. Moreau, with Brando. Bad, bad, excrutiatingly bad.
What is Dark City doing on this list? How 'bout casting a vote for NORTH.
i'd like to add the recent "bedazzled"...after reading on another list about it being one of the worst movies in recent history, it brought back horrible memories.
All these entries, and no I Spit On Your Grave?
Consider it nominated!
Shalom, y'all!

I'll second "North" and "Dracula: Dead and Loving It", third "Trial and Error", and add a 13th vote to "Batman and Robin."
I'd also like to add the wretched "Nothing But Trouble", "Runaway Bride", "Jack", "Clifford", and "The Next Best Thing."
Can I unvote for some movies? Come on, guys, "Hercules" isn't that bad.
I'd also like to add that Ebert called "I Spit on Your Grave" the worst movie ever made.
I don't say this too often, but I don't think I'll argue with Ebert over that one... :)
Shalom, y'all!

If I could take something off, it'd have to be "Independence Day". Sure, there are plot holes you could reroute traffic through, but the CGI is still pretty cool after 6 years, and most of the cast is affable enough. Goldblum even acts like he knows this movie is a goof.
This one used to be my favorite. I've since gotten a lot smarter, but I can still find some enjoyment in it.
If I could add a couple to the list, it'd be "The Godson (1998)". Love Kevin McDonald, think Kids in the Hall was of the funniest TV shows ever, but kill me just the same. And "Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo", the movie which puts the "pathetic" in "unsympathetic". As in its terrible, terrible pop-locking "stars".
Was there really a movie called Plump Fiction? It sounds like a porno movie for those who like big women?
I agree with Nick, Independence Day was not that bad. Also Matinee was actually a pretty good movie in a cheesy kind of way.
I will nominate for inclusion Doom Generation, Head Over Heels, Valentine and most definitely Mandingo
Wow...Mandingo. Excellent.
I would contribute Swinfan, but I had too much fun watching it. But someone else needs to nominate it. It really sucked.
I have a couple other picks... "Santa With Muscles" and "The One" (the Jet Li 'vehicle').
