Back down again from 100 to 50. 100 is so passé! It's hard work staying cool, in a nonchalant sort of way. I've added a few personal favourites i didn't have before: that's far more cool than having fools' cool. (even : is cooler than ;)

Sorry to be awkward but you've got to give definition of 'cool' here. If only to justify Belleville Rendezvous...

I suppose elements of style, insolence, independence, nonchalance, glamour, spikiness, fearlessness; can include films that appeal to trash merchants or pseudo-intellectuals alike. The intellectual critics (eg on Newsnight Review programme) in Britain were falling all over themselves about Belleville rendezvous. My list takes into account others' taste as well as my own. And my Yorkshire Terrier was really into Belleville Rendezvous. Anyway, "cool" is indefinable or it isn't cool.

Batman? Is that the Batman movie made with Adam West, from the TV series?

Yeah. Very camp. Anyway, i've decided my list is lousy, lots of em i didn't really like in the first place and 100 is an uncool number (50 was better in the first place), so it's all change!

To save everybody the time of looking up my list, the link being referred to is the Catalog of Cool's "50 Coolest Movies" located HERE. Complete with sleazy descriptions and all.

A few not mentioned thus far which sprang to my mind were

The Taking of the Pelham 123
Assault on Precinct 13 (original version)
Enter the Dragon
La Haine
