During the recruitment period, no one mentioned that the snow would be traveling sideways. Or the morning hour spent digging the car out in 20 degree weather. Or the fact that native Vermonters refer to this weather as "warm".

I know! Surprised me too. Although at one point when the wind filled my parka hood I thought I was going to start flying. Btw, there is nothing more satisfying than madly shoveling snow in a skirt while your bf has to stop for a cigarette break. Rah!

You've never been to Minnesota, eh? In Duluth, people still wear shorts when it's -5!
Today was a balmy 25 degrees and I was overdressed in my blue jeans, short-sleeved red shirt, and pea coat. ;-D

That's odd, I'd been thinking while writing this list that the Minnesota contingent would probably laugh. Does it really get to be minus 40 there? Aaaah!

I've seen a couple of folks on campus today too with incredible amounts of exposed skin for the amount of snow on the ground. Maybe it's an acclimatization thing. Maybe I just made that word up. :)
