- 2003 Garretson Viognier - Central Coast, California ($20.99): Perhaps the best white wine I've ever tried. Very bold compared to other, more floral, viogniers. If you're a chardonnay drinker, you owe it to yourself to give this one a shot.
- 2003 Kiona White Riesling - Washington State ($7.99): I first tried this at an outdoor concert on a very hot day, and it was perfect. It's a bit too sweet, however, if you're planning on drinking this alone, but works well with cheese to balance out the flavors.
- Reds
- 2001 Kiona Cabernet Sauvignon - Washington State ($20.99): One of my favorite wines ever. It's a blend, so isn't quite as heavy as most cabs, but is extremely drinkable.
- 2001 Lava Cap Reserve Merlot - Sierra Nevada foothills, California ($20.99): One of the best Merlot's I've ever had. (Take that, Paul Giamatti.)
- 2001 Solaris Rosso di Toscana (60% Sangiovese/40% Merlot) - Tuscany, Italy ($13.49): Ugh, after a very good tasting, the bottle we eventually drank had a crumbly cork and tasted vinegary. Very disappointing.
- 2003 Andrew Murray Vineyards Syrah - Central Coast California ($16.99): Incredible Syrah! Really rich with strong blueberry notes. Really good.
Author Comments:
My wife and I know very little about wine, but have become amateur oenophiles following the opening of a great wine shop down the street from us last year.
This list keeps track of our purchases and stand-out wines from their weekly tastings. The standard format is:
Vintage - Winery - Variety - Region - (Price in USD)
Hope it offers some good suggestions for your future wine enjoyment!

This list is a great idea! I never remember the wines I loved in the past. I'll probably clone your idea in the near future and look for inspiration here.
Thanks, Eve! I never remember to write down the names of wines I like (or really don't like), so hopefully this list will help. I look forward to checking out your list!
Alright, a wine lover... think I'll be keepin' an eye on this.
