Author Comments:

When I printed this out, I must've had the last page cut off by mistake, so # 1 is missing. I do apologize. I honestly wish I knew what song it was but there's so many more great one hit wonders out there, that 100 can't be "it".

"Everyone was kung-foo fight" (da du da dum dum) "they were fast as lightening!" (dada dum a dum) "it was a little bit frightening"

Number one was "Macarena"-Los Del Rio

i know that the first ten are
1. Los Del Rio - "Macarena" (1996)
2. Soft Cell - "Tainted Love" (1982)
3. Dexys Midnight Runners - "Come On Eileen" (1982)
4. Right Said Fred - "I'm Too Sexy" (1991)
5. Toni Basil - "Mickey" (1982)
6. Baha Men - "Who Let the Dogs Out?" (2000)
7. Vanilla Ice - "Ice Ice Baby" (1990)
8. a-ha - "Take On Me" (1985)
9. Gerardo - "Rico Suave" (1991)
10. Nena - "99 Luftballons" (1984)

This list is fucking retarded. Faith No More? The Verve? Gary Numan? Spandau Ballet? None of these bands are one hit wonders. Even fucking Aqua had 3 number ones. Whoever wrote this list is stupid; I'm not blaming the guy who posted it, but if this really is VH1's top 100 (or 99) one hit wonders, then VH1 is being run by a bunch of brain damaged 5 year olds.

VH1 is responsible for some of the most atrocious lists ever. Have you seen their latest -- The 100 Greatest Artists of All Time? Some of their inclusions are downright vomit-inducing.

I agree! "All My life" was not Kc and Jojo only "hit". They also had " Crazy" and "Wanta Do You Right"..

I agree with electrogenic with all the name droppings above. They made more than a hit. I would also add:
NENA (maybe her english version of 99 red balloons. But she had soooo many good german hit songs in many albums)
the whole DIGABLE PLANETS album is good too. And the 2nd album too.
CARDIGANS made more than 1 good song
DIVINYLS - werent they already kinda popular during the 80s before "I touch myself" in the 90s?

But all in all...the list is quite good

Perhaps VH1's primary criterion was the artists'/songs' success on the US charts. That might explain the inclusion of Gary Numan, the Verve, Spandeau Ballet, and similar artists that really only had multiple certifiable hits on the other side of the Atlantic.

While I agree that "Round And Round" was Ratt's biggest hit, I would not consider them to be a " One hit wonder". At least three of their albums were certified as either gold or platinum.
