I think Black Flag put out a couple good albums in the 80's also.. I'm not good with years though. Also, I think the Specials probably did some good work then.
and yet, none of these seem to be "80's" bands. is that intentional, or does it just serve as some sort of cultural statement that bands that define the genre did not even put out the best albums of the decade?
I don't condider the 80's to be a "genre". There were may great genres within the 80's. That being said, many of these greats are "80's" bands.
