- Below (2002) Good entertainment in three genres: mystery, ghost story, and war (submarine).
- Bicentennial Man (1999) - Interesting and touching story, good performances, outstanding photography and fx, and an equally outstanding musical score by James Horner. Much superior to I, Robot , the other robot movie derived from Isaac Asimov's writings.
- The Client (1994) - Great legal head-butting between Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones. For me, the best movie based on a John Grisham novel.
- The Jackal (1997) Well told, exciting story based on the 1973 movie The Day of the Jackal, which was itself based on the best-selling novel about an attempted assassination of President Charles DeGaulle of France.
- Last Action Hero (1993) I really can't understand why this isn't better liked. Far from being just a kids movie, it's a very funny send-up of action movies, and, to some extent, of movies generally. Packed with cinema in-jokes and cameo roles, and a cast that includes Charles Dance and Anthony Quinn, no less, as comic villains, F.Murray Abraham, Art Carney - oh, and look out for Sir Ian McKellan as The Grim Reaper. We get to see Big Arnie play Hamlet - and win. I enjoy this movie every time I watch it.
- Reign of Fire (2002) Bold story idea, exciting action, excellent fx.

Oh, how nice to see a list of underrated movies!
Below: haven't seen it. Added it to my 'to see' list.
The Jackal: Wholeheartedly agree.
Reign of Fire: Disagree. It does indeed have a bold story idea, exciting action, and excellent effects, but the execution of its story is so horrible as to drown out its positives.
