Author Comments:
Since Rykodisc didn't quite get it and used one too few discs, the man himself put one together much too early in his career, and even Rhino blew it big time, trying to paint him more as an MOR/sappy ballad artist than he ever was and sequencing oddly, to say the least, I, L. Bangs, have taken up the challenge and finally compiled the ultimate two-disc compilation for one of the greatest (and still undersung) talents in modern music, Elvis Costello.

Yes, I know many fans can't stand Doomsday.
Too bad. I anxiously await reading their lists. :)

Good to see my alltime favourite Oliver's Army show up!
A great compilation. Unfortunately I'm missing a few, but if I had them I'd compile them into this playlist; it's really very good.
Thanks!
Although, as I drifted to la-la land listening to these last night, I suddenly felt a horrible stab of pain as I realized I somehow left off Strict Time!
It is hard to push them out of the nest, I tell ya...
Shalom, y'all!

Yes! Without a doubt that is one of my favorite E-Cost songs. I can't help bob my head to it, IMO it's the best song on Trust. I only have the first five albums so I can't comment on the others but I have to say I'd for sure include "Black and White World" - nobody ever mentions that track, but I think it's one of his best and one of the real standouts on Get Happy.
Get Happy is crammed full of terrific little tunes. It is tough choosing off that album!
I'm amazed how often I catch myself singing Riot Act though... :)
Shalom, y'all!
