- Movies where the plot revolves around a bet, specially when said bet includes a love interest
- Mystery movies that are not clever, instead they usually go for surprising and/or complicated
- Historical dramas that don't romanticize, excludes movies based around events that are so interesting alone they don't need to be
- Movies that use prior-established characters but can all the former norms of that character
- Movies about weddings
- Happy movies with a downturn just before a happy ending
- Movies with niether a climax, nor a build-up to one
- Tragic movies with an 'oh gollie' happy ending
- Cop movies with great actors and a great story that go for Beverly Hills Cop instead of Dirty Harry in tone
- Horror movies where no one dies, but everyone's life is threatened
- Westerns with no bad guys, only indians, only exception... Red River
- Sports movies where everything goes right(also see happy movies with a downturn just before the happy ending)
- Movies with smart animals as the heroes
- Movies based on books where only the characters and very minimal plot were transformed to the screen
- Movies about rich people, with no rags involved
- Serious movies about rappers and courage
- Comedies where the title is the punchline and usually the only clever part of whole movie, that or the dumbest
