TV Shows I've Been Addicted to at Some Point

  • Some were good, some were bad, some were REALLY bad; but I've been addicted to these television shows at some point in my life. Some like "Dawson's Creek" wouldn't even register on my list of favorites however. Addictions are addictions. Says nothing for quality (except for the Whedon shows, of course). :-p
  • The Simpsons: Come on, who HASN'T been addicted to the Simpsons at some time or other? My big addiction peaked sometime around the year 2000. Bad news, since the episodes were really crappy at that point, I remember. As of now, I haven't seen an episode SINCE 2000, probably.

  • Dawson's Creek: I hate to admit this, but yes, it's true. I was young and all the "cool" kids did it, lol. My addiction mainly lasted through the first 2 seasons. I don't remember the last time I've seen an episode. All I remember are the days when Pacey was actually cool.

  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer: I didn't really get into Buffy until its 4th season, sadly. My father and sister would watch it all the time and rave, and I was the sarcastic one going "Buffy the Vampire Slayer *scoff* - yeah, that sounds great." heh. I started watching a few episodes here and there during the second season. By the 4th season I was into it; and by the 5th season I was officially obsessed. My addiction runs through today! I will forever be a Buffy fan.

  • The Awakening: You've probably never heard of this show if you weren't a black pre-teen or teenager living in Chicago during the early/mid 90s. But don't worry, you haven't missed anything. :-p This was all the rage among my peers. Ghetto teenage drama at it's finest! This was a show put on by one of the local churches, on one of the local access networks. It became wildly popular among kids and lasted a few years. There was Marquita, the 16-year former prostitute, pretty girl who got pregnant by Poochie and struggles to find God. There was Mookie, the gang-banger, drug-dealer who gets shot and ends up in a wheelchair... no, you didn't miss much. :-p

  • Angel: I was an Angel addict before I was a Buffy addict. This debuted at the same time as Buffy season 4; and the episodes were so much better than the Buffy episodes of that season. I eventually drifted away from Angel during season 2; only caught a few episodes of season 3; and never saw a single episode of seasons 4 and 5 until they were released on DVD. But once the DVDs came, I was an Angel addict all over again and remain so today!

I will also forever be a Buffy fan. Probably my favorite show of all time. I still haven't tried watching Angel but I'll get around to it at some point.

And, man...when's The Awakening coming out on DVD!? ;)

Johnny Waco

They actually do have season 1 on DVD now! :-p I may get it...
