TV Shows That I Find to Be Complete Hacks

- Will and Grace - Too hip for me I guess. It's hard to like unlikable and shallow people. The entire cast is pretty much that, petty and uninteresting. Unlike Larry David, Seinfeld or the Shield, it fails in making me care about people who I shouldn't care about.
- Friends - People must seek the path of least resistance which explains the success of this show. They just scarfed this thing down because the least amount of thinking was required of the audience.
- The O.C. - Primetime soaps have really never interested me. But when one got an entire nation to call Orange County by some idiotic phrase semi-hip hop acronym which adds on the definite article, it really got my goat. "The" O.C.? When Snoop says "the" L.B.C., I can understand but when a bunch of rich spoiled kids say "the" O.C., I puke. Can this show really be on the same network as Arrested Development?
- Everybody Loves Raymond - Really, there isn't a single thing that I could find to be of redeeming quality. Ray is not funny, I would change the channel whenever he came up on Stand Up Stand Up back in the '90s. The cranky and smothering mother/mother-in-law, ooh, what an innovation. This show is about as frumpy, uninnovative and bland as it can get. I change my mind, the only thing I can say good about it is that it doesn't have a drop of sentimentality in it. At least they stuck to their guns on that.
- Reba - Get some better actors and deal with sensitive issues much less awkwardly.
- CSI - Just so bad. Plus, I love that these type of shows have had a detrimental effect on our justice system, saddling juries with unreasonable expectations from forensic science. What, television dumb down people's perceptions? No.
- Scrubs - It's too cute.
- According to Jim - It's not completely offensive but I don't know why they continue to let unfunny family sitcoms pollute the airwaves.
- Rockstar: INXS - I tend to loathe most reality shows but the corporate slickness of this production. Maybe I am especially offended because they dare call this drek rock music. It should be called Rockstar: Sellout.
- The O'Reilly Factor - I don't mean to be all partisan and stuff but c'mon. This stuff does not makes sense even on Mars.

Well, almost every sitcom and drama I see on television is pretty much crap. But here are some examples of show that have done really well or won't die despite my opinion though I'm not surprised since my opinion does not usually match with the rest of the population.

well put and couldn't agree more on will and grace and friends... the rest are hacks, but those two are the worst of the bunch, or of any bunch... although i agree it's a complete hack, i do find everybody loves raymond funny, but in small doses, ask me to watch more than an episode a month or so and I might go insane, but I laugh when i do catch it occasionally.
Honestly, the reason that I have an opinion is that I've obviously watched these shows. There are shows that I find so much more despicable that I can't even watch and therefore don't feel the right to post an opinion of them. So, I might be being a bit negative but these shows can be watched without harm. I guess that's why they are on tv and have done well.
well, maybe scrubs and raymond, but as far as i'm concerned the rest are bottom of the barrel bar none.
