Screw Sgt. Pepper's, admittedly it is the first pop music album that most closesly resembles a piece of literature, but big fucking deal if the majority of the songs are unlistenable. Who wants to read a shitty book?

Good list.
But, first of all IMO "Sgt. Pepper's" is not the "first album to resemble a piece of literature". And that is not the primary reason it's so highly acclaimed. Depending how you look at it, Pet Sounds can resemble a piece of literature. Or Rubber Soul. Or any Dylan album pre-Sgt. Pepper's. Or any folk artist pre-Dylan.
The reason I love this album is the rich production, which to me blows the doors off Pet Sounds, which I also like. Also, it was the Beatles peak. And the bloody Beatles are the reason most of rock is alive today. Everything after this was an encore from the Beatles. Yes, the White Album was great. And Abbey Road is brilliant, which I prefer over Sgt. Pepper's. But, maybe you have just gotten sick of hearing nothing but positive reaction about it.
I've never seen anyone place Revolver so high and dislike Sgt. Pepper's so much.
those are good points indeed, and you are more than likely right, i am sick of my friends berating me all the time with its importance, but i like sgt. peppers, yeah i'm a fan of the beatles even though i would love to say the stones are the best band ever, unquestionably, but the beatles make it hard
