i disregarded any jimi hendrix songs because honestly i cannot distiguish his guitar playing from his guitar solos.

No Metallica or Dream Theater or Rage/Audioslave. Harumph.
never heard any dream theatre or audioslave, and although rage is ok, none of their solos really stood out last time i listened(any suggestions?)... and the explanation is probably my dislike for metal and all their "facemelter" solos.
You seem to be a bit biased towards The Kinks. They are good but 3 Kinks songs in the top 5 guitar solos? Come on...
Also, I feel Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits deserves a place in any list of top 10 guitar solos.
