Author Comments:

Also made in January. One moment that I realized I forgot after I finished that I'm too lazy to include: Giles suffocates Ben in The Gift B 5.22

Enjoy!

P.S. Formatting's a bitch.

The brilliant rhyming of "somehow" and "ow" in Going Through the Motions from Once More, With Feeling B6.7

...and the lesbian sex scene, of course.

I truly have format-sympathy but you really oughta spoilerize. Not only will it protect as it shines but it will entice.

The problem with spoilerizing the whole thing is twofold. 1st) There are lots of spoilers here, so that's annoying. 2nd) It's hard to determine exactly what might count as a spoiler. Certain events are obvious, but is Buffy's arguement with her mom a spoiler? Maybe, maybe not.

I don't think anyone would enjoy this who hadn't seen the series anyway, so hopefully my heading is warning enough.

Haha, I had a feeling that "The Father Will Kill the Son" might be #1. Great moment.

And seriously, I admire you for actually compiling a top 100. I've tried, but I've never been able to make it.

One surprising absence:

Buffy realizes Angel has got his soul back, tells him she loves him, tells him to close his eyes...and proceeds to stab him through the chest with a sword and send him to Hell in "Becoming, Part Two."

That was the same moment that was said to be "missing" on livejournal.

My explanation is that moment is going to be heart-breaking no matter how it is done just because of what is happening. But there are lots of things I don't actually like about that moment. I.e. the music and the profile shot of Angel with the sword of him, getting sucked down the hole. I really don't like those elements.

Yeah my #1 would probably be in most people's top twenties. Whenever I watch "Couplet," I always get lost in all the great comedy, and when that final scene comes up, I suddenly remember what's going to happen (both in the coming episodes and to Wesley over the course of the show) and my heart just drops. He's my favorite fictional character of all time.

There are actually a number of "deaths" that didn't make it onto the list because they were emotionally moving just because they were deaths, not because I was in love with how/why the death happened.
