- 10. Falling
- Album: A Day On Our Planet
- Artist: Spicelab
- Genre: Ambient Trance
- Year: 1995
- Why?: The first time I heard this song, I got about 6 minutes into and thought "this isn't trance, it's nice ambient, but not trance." Almost the moment I clicked next the "trance" started. It was sooo addicting I listened to the song about 6 times in a row (which is good for a 20 minute song!)
- Score: ****1/4
- 9. Bike Pt.1
- Album: cLOUDDEAD
- Artist: cLOUDDEAD
- Genre: Abstract Hip-hop
- Year: May 1 2001
- Why?: I am not a fan of most hip-hop/rap. But this song is something I can...roll with. I don't know why I enjoy it, but I truly do. Recommended for people interested in starting to listen to rap.
- Score: ***1/2
- 8. 14:31
- Album: 76:14
- Artist: Global Communication
- Genre: Downtempo/Ambient
- Year: 1994
- Why?: This song is pure genius. The first listen was almost just taking me away to some soft beach that was in the middle of space. It sounded so...pure. Something that is recommended for falling asleep to or working with. But, what's also amazing is that you can listen to it avidly, and still be engulfed in amazing sound.
- Score: ****3/4
- 7. Stoney Muffin
- Album: Bricolage
- Artist: Amon Tobin
- Genre: Abstract Hip-hop
- Year: Jun. 3 1997
- Why?: Well, this is my first album by Amon I have listened to, and I find much of his stuff to be "head-bobbing." It was either this song or At The End of the Day, but this song just made it for me. Great to just chill to in a car.
- Score: ***3/4
- 6. All Neon Like
- Album: Homogenic
- Artist: Björk
- Genre: Abstract
- Year: 1997
- Why?: Just her voice is entrancing, but it seems to really reach to me in this song. It's not so "screamy", and it seems to...flow more. Oh yeah, and the beat is nice too.
- Score: ***3/4
- 5. roygbiv
- Album: Music Has The Right To Children
- Artist: Boards of Canada
- Genre: IDM/Ambient
- Year: 1998
- Why?: Holy shit. I randomly D/L this song a few weeks ago, and I recently fell in love with it all over again. The bass, the small "words"...just everything about this song is amazing. But DAMN the shortness. I wish it was longer.
- Score: ****1/2
- 4. What Does Your Soul Look Like (Part 1 - Blue Sky Revisit)
- Album: Entroducing... (also Deluxe Edition)
- Artist: DJ Shadow
- Genre: Jazz-hop (as Darktremor so splendidly put it)
- Year: Nov. 19 1996
- Why?: Once again, just pure BADASS. I've been listening to this album for weeks, and this song has stuck with me all the way. If you like Jazz, and you like Hip-hop, you will fucking worship this.
- Score: ****
- 3. Kitchen
- Album: Kitchen
- Artist: Nôze
- Genre: Minimal/ Tech house
- Year: 2005
- Why?: First off, the music is very catchy (at least to me), and the lyrics are orgasmic (if you listen you will understand). At first I just thought "Wow, the voice sounds really strange, but it is amazing!" When I finally listened to the lyrics 3 listens later I almost fell out of the chair I wasn't sitting in laughing. Get the album (the other song is just as good).
- Score: ****1/2
- 2. Too Late
- Album: saturdays = youth
- Artist: m83
- Genre: Shoegaze/Downtempo/Ambient
- Year: Apr. 10 2008
- Why?: Nothing about this song is original in any way. Not in one way really. But I have an extremely good memory linked to it, and the voices (and music) just make you want to cry and shout with both happiness and sadness at the same time. This band took me a LONG time to like, but they deserve my respect. This is not their best album, but this song speaks personally to me. I'd definitely recommend it.
- Score: ****3/4
- 1. Dirty Epic
- Album: Dubnobasswithmyheadman
- Artist: Underworld
- Genre: Techno
- Year: Sept. 5 2001
- Why?: Everything about this is godly. It was so difficult to pick my favorite song from this album I just had to pick the one that was playing while writing this (though this is one of my favorites). The entire album is just...godly. You need to get this. Period.
- Score: *****
Author Comments:
This list is mostly for me, because in about two months I will forget about these songs (and I'd rather not...). My taste is changing all the time (but it 95% of the time stays with the 'electronic' genre), and if there are any good bands/albums/songs/genres that you think I might enjoy, please, let me know! Also, if you think one of the songs I picked is shit, then go ahead and let me know (but with good reason please) =D. Comments appreciated!
P.S. each is rated on a 5 star scale

I'd have to agree with you that Dubnobasswithmyheadman is "godly." "Dirty Epic" is quite an amazing song. I really recommend that you grab a copy of Underworld's next album, Second Toughest in the Infants. I think it's every bit as good.
D/L it right now. I'll let ya know what I think (though from the samples it sounds badass), and thanks for mentioning it!
=D
Cool man. Let me know how you like it. =)
Wow! This is definitely going on the next list I make. My favorite song (it keeps changing) is Confusion the Waitress. By the end of the night it will change to another one...thanks for pointing out this album! =D
Hahaha...awesome man. I'm happy to hear you're enjoying it! Take care.
