  • 10. Deeper Than Deep
  • Album: Platipus Records Vol.1
  • Artist: Art of Trance
  • Genre: Acid trance
  • Year: Nov. 14 1994
  • Why?: This song releases you into some far distant land where you fall into the beat. I was actually in a hot tub while listening to this song, and it was a very strange sensation. The song was fucking badass, and the atmosphere just seemed to work.
  • Score:***1/2
  • 9. So Easy
  • Album: Melody A.M.
  • Artist: Röyksopp
  • Genre: Downtempo
  • Year: 2002
  • Why?: I love the intro to the song. It actually took me several listens to realize that he was saying "so easy." The lyrics after that are mesmerizing, and the beat makes your head go up and down. I find it very relaxing, but at the same time upbeat.
  • Score:***2/3
  • 8. Into Deep (UK Mix)
  • Album: Into Deep
  • Artist: L.S.G.
  • Genre: Trance
  • Year: 2000
  • Why?: To be totally honest I treat this whole album as one song. I listen to it if I need to focus and be creative with what I'm doing. The reason I chose this song was because I remember looking at this specific one and thinking "this could be a solo listen." That's the only reason. The album is amazing, and it's had several listens since I achieved it this week.
  • Score:***4/5
  • 7. Aerosol
  • Album: Sunrider
  • Artist: Jens Buchert
  • Genre: Drum n Bass/Dub/Downtempo/Ambient
  • Year: Nov. 2004
  • Why?: I listen to this album when I am alone in the dark and just need to fucking relax. I also listen to it while on the back of a bike going 120 mph. I'm fucked up like that.

  • 6. Sixtyten
  • Album: Music Has The Right To Children
  • Artist: Boards of Canada
  • Genre: Trip hop/IDM/Downtempo/Ambient
  • Year: 1998
  • Why?: The bass for one. I also love the "whiiirrrllll" sound that they incorporate into it. I don't know, this album is probably one of my favorite electronic ones of all time. It really is a masterpiece.
  • 5. Poppy Nogood and the Phantom Band
  • Album: A Rainbow In Curved Air
  • Artist: Terry Riley
  • Genre: Minimal
  • Year: 1971
  • Why?: All I can say is...Neptune, you were totally correct.
  • Score: ****
  • 4. Do While
  • Album: 94diskont
  • Artist: Oval
  • Genre: Glitch/Abstract/Minimal/Experimental
  • Year: 1995
  • Why?: It's taken me quite some time to take a liking to this...album really. The first time I listened I heard it for what it was...scratched up CDs and shit like that. But I gave it a couple more listens, and look where it ended up. This song can rock me to sleep like...a mother rocks a child to sleep I guess. The sounds and images it portrays in your bed while falling asleep are very beautiful.
  • Score:****1/4
  • 3. KC Accidental
  • Album: You Fogot It In People
  • Artist: Broken Social Scene
  • Genre: Indie rock
  • Year: Sept. 3 2003
  • Why?: The song intro prepares you for this amazing middle, and then all of a sudden it slows down and the singer starts singing, and everything slows down to a slowish pace...then it starts speeding up again, slowly at first, building the tension and then it roars 'classily' to the finish line just forcing you want to scream and release all the tension inside of you.
  • Score:****1/2
  • 2. Le Champagne
  • Album: The Singles Collection
  • Artist: Trentemøller
  • Genre: Dance (according to iTunes)
  • Year: 2003
  • Why?: It's a very chillaxing song. I love the beat, and it just makes me want to go and have a fun time. It's definitely a very good way to start a party.
  • Score:****3/4
  • 1. PQM - You Are Sleeping (PQM meets Luke Chable Vocal Pass)
  • Album: Balance 005
  • Artist: James Holden....fine PQM
  • Genre: Prog House/Trance
  • Year: Oct. 3 2003
  • Why?: Oh god the fucking vocals. I love them. That is basically how I define most women (sue me, I've learned from experience). They take everything you have and then say "you look fucked!" No really, I do have many girl friends, but no girlfriends. I've learned my lesson LOL. Anyway, the beat is badass, and it's a fucking awesome song to dance to. This album is definitely in my top 10 favorites of all time. I keep coming back to it. Definitely recommended.
