- 10. The Researchers of Civilisation
- Album: In Search of Sunrise
- Artist: York (mixed by Tiesto)
- Genre: Anthem Trance
- Year: Nov. 22 1999
- Why?: I'm not a very big fan of Tiesto...not at all really. I like very few of his songs. To cut it short, I decided to try In Search of Sunrise and the first song really caught me. I listened to the original...and it just didn't strike me as good as this remix. I'd like to say this is the first song/album I have listened to more than once by Tiesto. It's pretty fun.
- Score:***1/4
- 9. My Way
- Album: My Way
- Artist: Akufen
- Genre: House/Minimal/Tech house
- Year: May 2002
- Why?: Because he wants to do it his way, and I absolutely love how he does it. That's why.
- Score:***1/2
- 8. People Are Friends
- Album: Dropsonde
- Artist: Biosphere
- Genre: Ambient
- Year: Feb 13 2006
- Why?: This whole album is beautiful. But this song is very melodic...like all the rest. Hmmmm, why IS it better than all the others? I guess 'cause it's longer...yeah, the album is that good.
- Score:****
- 7. Cyan
- Album: Hongkong (remastered)
- Artist: Monolake
- Genre: Abstract/Techno/Ambient
- Year: 1997
- Why?: I'm not even going to say why.
- Score: ****
- 6. Everything In Its Right Place
- Album: Kid A
- Artist: Radiohead
- Genre: Electronic/Rock
- Year: 2000
- Why?: Everything, that's why. This song (to me) seems like he's trying to tell himself to forcefully put everything where it belongs, when it's in reality very disorderly. Maybe he has OCD, you never know.
- Score: ****
- 5. Sasha's Voyage of IMA
- Album: IMA
- Artist: BT
- Genre: House/Prog trance
- Year: 1995
- Why?: Sasha does an insanely good job mixing the CD. I've listened to this 42 minute song many times (which rarely happens)
- Score:****1/4
- 4. Phaedra
- Album: Phaedra
- Artist: Tangerine Dream
- Genre: Ambient
- Year: 1974
- Why?: I got this album awhile back, and I never really got into. Just today, in fact, did I actually start listening to it, and it may just make next weeks top 10 list again. It's simply amazing!
- Score:****1/2
- 3. Smack My Bitch Up
- Album: The Fat of the Land
- Artist: The Prodigy
- Genre: Breakbeat/Big beat (?)
- Year: Jun 30 1997
- Why?: The song name really, I love it. But the beat is pretty sweet also. My friends love playing this song for some strange reason while...well, guess.
- Score:****1/2
- 2. Couleurs (Sasha Invol2ver remix)
- Album: Invol2ver
- Artist: m83 (more Sasha to me though...)
- Genre: Prog House/Techno/Tech House
- Year: Aug 8 2008
- Why?: I love the song Couleurs by m83, but this remix is just as good, and totally different. =D
- Score:****3/4
- 1. Death Is the Road to Awe
- Album: The Fountain, Sondtrack
- Artist: Clint Mansell
- Genre: Modern Classical/Score/Abstract/Ambient
- Year: Nov 21 2006
- Why?: This song winds by a landslide. It is perfection. Clint Mansell does everything perfectly. What makes this song even better (if that's possible) is the movie. The acting was astounding. The film almost (if I watch it again I will) made me cry. If you haven't seen this movie because of what others told you, shame on you! Go and see it for yourself. It is my favorite movie. Granted, I'm not an avid movie-goer, but I do know ART when I fucking see it.
- Score:******************** (haha I wish, but really): *****
