This is a list of the LDD's favourite Sci-Fi films EVER. We also expect people to make comments on the omission of A New Hope, but thats hard luck! (so no e-mails about this please!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
How's about I comment on your inclusion of Event Horizon?
Yes, Event Horizon (which starts well, but...), Enemy Mine (which, I admit, I find incredibly boring), and the exclusion of Blade Runner and Metropolis leave me a bit baffled.
I like Aliens, but this ranking seems a bit over-inflated to these eyes. Ah well, at least you did put Alien above it.
The Thing (original, 1951 version) is another favorite.

BTW, lest I sound too negative, I really like this list, quite a bit really. It contains many of my favorite 70s and 80s sci fi films. Total Recall especially surprised me. I really wasn't expecting to enjoy it when I walked in the theater, but I was shortly caught up in the fun.
