I just saw 6ixtynin9 last night both after loving Last Life In The Universe AND seeing it here on your list. What an awesome film! If you love it, I highly recommend you watch Thursday and Amateur as I found 69 to be a hybrid of these two films.

Ah, missed this comment as this list is way down at the bottom of my page and I don't get emails when I get comments (I should fix that sometime).

Thursday, I've seen. I recall thinking it was 2nd-rate Tarantino worship and gave it a 5/10. Amateur does look interesting. Don't know that I'll see it anytime soon as I have a big backlog of stuff to watch, but recommendation noted. :)

I never once thought that Thursday seemed like Tarantino when I was watching it. I think the humour in Thursday is a lot funnier and blacker than anything Tarantino could possibly pull off. I recall seeing this and Pulp Fiction for the first time around the same time, hating PF and loving this so...might be a case of "to each their own", but maybe if you were to view it again with an open mind?

As for Amateur, it sounds like maybe youve never seen any other Hal Hartley stuff? If so, you definitely need to at least watch Henry Fool, Trust, or Amateur as those are his most accessible and highly praised/well known to start you off with. If you ever get around to seeing it, do let me know what you think...

Indeed, haven't seen any Hal Hartley. It's a name I've seen pop up a couple times but haven't had the chance to catch any yet. I'll have to correct that sometime.
