Tom "I'm a media whore" Cruise...
Hey, how can you be this cruel. ;) I certainly don't think he wanted that general public makes such negative stands about him. It's the media that bloated somebody regular (and sympathetic IMO) into a bad figure, and whenever it does so I try to put myself in positions of the "blamed" and try to dissuade me out of making harsh stands towards someone. Can we all be this way.? :)
M:I3 doesn't look promising though. If even De Palma couldn't pull a particularly good movie out of the premise, we can't be optimistic, can we? ;)
I think that it's Cruise's own fault. He uses the media to make people aware that he is still alive and making movies. For instance, his The Color of Money co-star Paul Newman (who is a much better actor, and it is almost a shame to mention both in the same paragraph) is married since over 50 years to Joanne Woodward, and he managed very well to keep his name out of the media. But then again, Cruise lacks what Newman has got plenty: talent.
I just don't want to make any negative stands towords nobody regardless of the situation, and I think that's the most fair aproach.
